Twilight fans: Those around the house when Renesmee was born?

I could be wrong, it's been a while since I read it, but I have in my brain that leah remained outside the house and was doing patrols when Renesmee was born. Again, I'm not certain on that, but I read the book twice, and that's just stuck in my head. Edward's blond sister, whose name eludes me at the moment, was, I believe, actually in the house when she was born.
