My computer freezes up for a few seconds then makes a click sound and unfreezes?

Occasionally, and randomly my computer will freeze for 5-6 seconds and then there is a click from inside the case and my computer will go back to normal. It used to happen like once a week, but it is now a nightly occurrence. I thought it was the HD at first but i have replaced it with a new one and the problem continues.
