Goldfish appetite tank etc?

I recieved a gold fish as a gift and idk what to do with it its in a bowl i only have enough money to buy a 40 gallon which is pretty big is that an ok size for right now i wnant a 60 gall but those are expensive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Neeed care tooooooooooooooo
